Thor 2 SDI or HDSDI Fiber Optic MINI Extender

The Thor 2 SDI or HDSDI Fiber Optic MINI Extender, model F-M2SDI-Tx/Rx, is a versatile transmitter and receiver set designed to transport two full channels of HD-SDI or SD-SDI over fiber cable. It features a return path RS-485 and an auxiliary port that supports audio, RS-232/422, or contact closure, making it adaptable for various applications.

This compact extender kit allows you to extend HD-SDI or SD-SDI digital video signals over long distances using single-mode fiber optic cable. Unlike traditional coax cables with BNC connectors that limit distance to about 100 meters, the Thor SDI extenders use lasers to transmit data over fiber optic cable, extending the range to over 80 miles.

Available in various models for distances of 10, 20, 40, or 80 km, these kits offer different audio options and use 1310nm and 1550nm optics for forward and reverse paths. The devices are equipped with locking ST or FC fiber connectors and BNC video cables to prevent accidental disconnection. Adapter jumpers for different fiber connector types are available upon request. Options for single-mode or multimode fiber and various transmitter power levels are also available.
