Thor 4 Bi – Directional SDI / HDSDI Over 1 Fiber Transceiver

The Thor 4 Bi-Directional SDI/HDSDI Over 1 Fiber Transceiver is designed for seamless transmission of HD-SDI and SD-SDI digital video signals over long distances using a single-mode fiber optic cable. This advanced system supports up to four channels of bi-directional HD-SDI, each operating at 1.5 Gbps, ensuring high-quality video transport up to 80 km.

In addition to video, the transceiver offers dual Aux ports for enhanced functionality, allowing the integration of up to four analog bi-directional audio channels, two full duplex RS-232/422 links, or four contact closure lines per Aux interface. The transmitter inputs accommodate any serial digital signal up to HD-SDI, providing versatility and compatibility.

Utilizing CWDM technology, each HD-SDI signal is fully isolated and carries its own embedded audio and ancillary data, operating independently as if it were the sole signal on the fiber. The 8-channel platform doubles functionality with two independent Aux links, customizable for various audio and data configurations.

The system features locking cables and ST/RF or SC fiber and BNC connectors for secure connections. Link status alarms on both the transmitter and receiver ensure reliable operation by indicating when the link is not functional. Additionally, the RS-485 return path enables serial data transmission from the receiver back to the transmitter for effective device control.
