The Thor 1-4 HDMI to QAM Modulators and IPTV Streaming Encoders offer a seamless solution for converting 1 to 4 HDMI digital video inputs into Coax – CATV US Cable format or DVB-C Encoding. These modulators support HD MPEG-2 or HD H.264 streams, outputting in RF QAM-256 J.83A/B/C, ASI, and IP UDP, RTP/RTSP, delivering HD quality at 720p, 1080i, or 1080p.

Broadcast live HDMI video over existing coaxial cabling to multiple televisions, turning HDMI-compatible devices into cable TV and IPTV channels. Thor’s QAM modulator simplifies the process of viewing full HD programming on your own RF channel. Preprogrammed for easy plug-and-play access, you can display video or digital signage on up to four separate QAM channels on your RF infrastructure.

The Thor HDMI-QAM-IP and HDMI-QAM-IPLL product lines combine 1 to 4 HD hardware encoders with a multiplexer and agile QAM modulator, perfect for corporations or broadcasters distributing multiple HD channels over coax networks for MATV or CATV systems. Supporting both DVB-C and North American cable (ITU-T J.83B), these systems are commonly used to add HD content to existing channel lineups or generate local full HD cable TV feeds.

Each modulator can output 1 to 4 adjacent QAM carriers with up to 38 Mbps of bandwidth each. Additional bandwidth can be populated with externally generated programming via an ASI input terminal, accepting MPTS programming at up to 120 Mbps for distribution.

Thor encoder modulators are compatible with all major world television systems, utilizing Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) for high bandwidth capabilities. The QAM-IP chassis supports the three primary J.83 QAM standards: ITU-T J.83A, J.83B, and J.83C, allowing for flexible output without firmware changes.

Models with “LL” in their number feature Thor’s low latency encoding option, significantly reducing the time delay between video input and encoded program output.
