The Thor 4 X Satellite or ATSC IRD Decoder to IP and ASI is a versatile solution for converting RF signals to IPTV, ASI, and CATV QAM formats. Designed for satellite, terrestrial, and cable TV applications, this high-density program stream IRD supports multiple RF tuner options including ATSC, DVB-S2, DVB-T, ISDB-T, and QAM, depending on the model.
This unit features four independent RF tuners, allowing for the demodulation of entire carrier band frequencies. It can handle four RF inputs and convert them to QAM, IP, and ASI outputs. Each input can be set to a different RF channel, scanning for all video programs and subchannels. The program streams from all tuners, along with IP and ASI inputs, can be multiplexed and remapped as needed.
The Thor H-IRD-V4 offers configurable output options, including:
- IP TS (MPTS) multicast/unicast output for RF to IP applications
- CATV RF QAM Channel for RF to QAM applications
- ASI (MPTS) output for RF to ASI applications
Equipped with four CAM slots, it supports encrypted satellite channels and provides industry-standard Conditional Access through Common Interface (CI) slots. These slots accommodate CAM modules like CableCard or systems using the PCMCIA interface, allowing for descrambling of RF, IP, and ASI transport streams. Supported CAM modules may include NDS VIDEOGUARD, CONAX, IRDETO, and NAGRA VISION, depending on the operator.
This platform is ideal for program aggregation and multiplexing in cable TV headends and corporate MATV systems. Configuration and management are accessible via the front panel LCD and keypad, with remote access available through a dedicated NMS network port for web browser control.
