The system operates with a forward RF path of 45-1000Mhz, carrying CATV channels 2-135 from the headend to endpoints, and a return path of 5-42Mhz for data transmission back to the headend. This dual-path design ensures efficient communication over different frequencies, overcoming the limitations of copper coax cables over long distances.

Thor’s solution includes TX and RX devices that replicate bi-directional RF communication over two fibers. This setup is ideal for extending point-to-point connections, supporting interactive CATV services, and facilitating fast cable Internet services. The devices convert electrical RF signals to optical in both directions, supporting encrypted CATV, Clear QAM, ATSC, and analog modulated RF PAL and NTSC.
